    Hi Rog
Any info on the wiring system would be great. I have downloaded manual for the Isis Wiring system and looks interesting. Prob above my elec abilities though. I have a good mechanic that is trained in auto Elecs which would be of great help if needed. Probably will only be starting a rewire next year. So plenty of time for research. My wiring in the DRB is haphazard to say the least. Already had to replace fuse block as a loose connection nearly burnt it. Saved in time. Due to overload in thermo fan circuit. All fixed now but always wary when driving.
    Regards
    Ian

JUST worked it out...too long a message and it rejects the post lol...so here is my second half of my reply mate...
So now I am looking at the fitting of exhaust manifolds supplied by DBR. Passenger side (one piece) does not fit at all once engine is in. It looks as if they fowl with the engine mounts, and on the drivers side (2 piece) you can bolt on no problem, but then I realized it sort of encapsulates the area for the starter motor, so i took it off, bolted on starter motor, and now its impossible to bolt the manifolds back on lol. So im having a bit of fun lately
Hope your weeks going well...much on for Easter? and do you have photos of your build mate? What do you have?

ive also just noticed my reply to your earlier message seems to have disappeared also! (
So in very late reply to your message...
I have tried to contact a couple of SA members, but once again no replies
I also filled out the on line SA membership form and sent that last week...nothing back at all!!! What is going on here mate? I cant see to flag down anybody to talk to me. (snif, cry, tear)
Ok, so about my build...i am lucky in that my old man is handing over to me his cobra. Its a DRB kit using a 290 boss motor and jag suspension. The stage we are at is all suspension done, breaks etc. The motor has been in and out a few times...a complete cow of a thing as we had to grind out the bonnet recess on both sides to fit the motor in, and you have to lower it in on a retarded angle to get rocker covers in.

Mate I'm sorry, I don't know anyone who's a member in SA. Suggest you have a look at all the posters on site and have a look at their members profile. The SA club should have on their website when they hold their meetings and just rock along. Wouldn't think a CAMS license is a condition of joining the club as it would exclude a lot of people joining who want to be a member just for the social and technical benefits. All the clubs are are affiliated with CAMS & it makes sense as politically it presents a united front to Govt especially when arguing over sensitive issues.
More than happy to help you in any way.
Have you decided what kit you're going to build yet ?There are some really good kits out there at the moment.Rog

    Hi Rog!
Took me a while to re-find your message. Not so easy to navigate here.
I did send a message to the SA club asking what the deal was with membership. Their page read like you needed a CAMS licence to join? Anyway I never got a reply back so hence why I have started throwing out emails country wide
Looking forward to the info very much. I know how valuable it can be having restored a 54 triumph tr2 when younger and then a porsche 928s. My father built a DRB GT40 over 7 years and pretty well struggled through the whole thing, so I have no intention going down that hard path!
Do you know personally of any good SA owners?

Ps, always good for a stiring

    Hi mate,
Sorry to annoy, i am fresh onto this website and need to try and get traction on the whole 'cobra' build thing. I am totally green and need to find out SO much about these beautiful machines. Short story, I am taking over a build of my fathers. Its a DRB kit. I dont even know the design specs etc, if I have a good shape or crap one. Anyway, I saw QLD on your profile and got excited as I seemed to be only seeing USA member posts. I also looked into SA club membership but they go on about needing a CAMS licence?!
Currently hoping to find out about imitation knock off wheels / tyres to suit and also trim inside and around tunnel / legs which seems very hard to put in after the pedal box is in place. Cheers Kieren
