Terry, Thank heavens there is at least one other person on this site of over testosteroned idiots that drives sanely. I didn't want to get in a pissing contest with this guy-he's not worth it. As far as not having fun, i retired from the 9 to 5 grind at age 38 and for the last 33 years have had fun every day. The most fun I had was building my slabside, back when most people didn't know what they were. I also found a perfect 66 Chevy 2 with Rochester injection, a car that I wanted to buy new right after I got my masters. I was dismayed that GM didn't offer the fuelie engine, although the 350 horse L79 would have been nice, but I didn't know it then. By the way, I share your hatred of crazy cycle riders and I have two classics ( Mustang motorcycle and a Cushman) as well as a 200 cc modern Vespa that I use more than my car. I have learned long ago that to survive you have to drive insanely safe-lower than the speed limit and assume everyone is out to get you, intentionally or not.
I checked my tires and rims and heres what i have.
8x16 with 245/50/zr16 3 3/4 backspace front
10x16 with 255/50/zr16 4 1/2 backspace rear
Kumo Ecsta Supra 712
The Kumho tires now only come in 45 aspect ratio up to a 265/45/16 but I don't think they even have the Supra 712 which was a summer tire. I checked Tirerack and saw the other tires. What I have fits the rear fender lips with about 1 inch clearance with the fronts about 1 1/2 inch. Inside has plenty of clearance. Hope this helps you some.
