My preference is to use studs (Loctited) into aluminum with nuts on the outside. You really don't need anything more than Grade 5.

We did Morris' recommendation for the inside of the rear cover on the 289 FIA race car. We have the finned aluminum cover and Morris is correct, it will not fit in a cobra without making some room...
