    I shut my business down and am now looking for work. Not much car related going on. I blew out a knee a couple of weeks ago, so I am recuperating right now. Did you get the engine in the car?

    Your going to need a cleaner to clean that cleaner residue off the gelcoat, especially if you plan to prime and paint down the road. Bill

    Try a medium clay bar and quick detailer, spray an area with the detailer and run the clay bar over it. As the clay bar picks up debris, refold it to a clean section and repeat.

    You might also try scrubbing, as before, only add dawn dish soap. It is a fairly good de-greaser that is relatively mild. Maybe get it as clean as possible with reasonable work, before hitting it...

    Try Acetone, It's what boat builders use it to clean their molds. It evaporates quickly, so it doesn't soften the gel-cote.
