    Yes, that was me for sure. I was doing the annual end of the season fresh fuel top-off for the Winter storage. same gas station every year. I live 4 miles up the road. Your plate scenario would not...

    Interesting about the solid lifters. I bought my car used and the builder originally put a Hyd 600 lift cam in it. He wanted the sound so he switched it out for a solid cam for the "noise effect"....

    Not that I have tried this on the Cobra, but other aluminum I have, including my job. I would do as above but finish it off with the WHITE Scotchbrite. It is a great polisher

    Karl, Sounds like a PITA. The dull paint seems like what you would want to camouflage it. If it was bright and shiny it would be calling attention to it. I think I would use safety wire to hold it...
