hi there i couldnt fig out how to make those fittings work that pace supplied im sure there are parts missing . so i bought some fittings that screwed into the reservoirs and used to large flat washers that went inbetween the fitting and reservoirs and put one each side of the bracket and then did the fitting up tight if that makes sense . i know craig drills blind holes into the bottom of the reservoirs and pop rivits them on but i was not keen on that tbh cheers dean
Sorry to post twice but i talk to much and went over allowed script, As Craig is almost finished, But as you have your pace at home did you receive the manual from Craig and DVD as i have not received it and don't really know were to start, i would have liked to go through the build instructions till i new which way was up and if to my liking if round rear stop lights or the early version were better, (early are better) i would have worn the cover away by now so, where did you start? sorry to ask you this early in my build but i like to know whats over the hill before i get lost, again thank you and if prefer me to seak local cobra club help let me know, i was a member sometime ago but have let it laps
Hi Pigsear, sorry i thought you were in SYD but doesn't matter as you still have a pace, and i think we can share and relate more as the parts required are closest to each other if not the same compared to other models, no i haven't taught her manual, i think i have taught her enough bad habits (you know that lonnnnng time when 2 cars are stationary and no one takes initiative to move, she now takes the initiative, and i think my personal opinion resale should be same if not better and i am not really intent on building a cobra to sell but most people own a manual cobra what about those that don't want to keep shifting 1,000 times every hill, roundabout, stop sign, and a leg injury cant use the car because its a manual no problems in a auto, another sacrilegious thought i am having no not a Chevy got one of those but a Toyota v8, been trying to source one
Hail, I am actually in Brisbane but ask away. Have you joined a local Cobra Club? The guys there are very helpful as well. Auto in a cobra is a bit sacrilegious, thought about taking her to a driving school. An auto will likely hurt resale but each to their own. What size motor? 302 / 351 or 427.
Hi pigsear, Thank you for your quick reply, My engine would need to be auto as i kinda promised my wife i was building it for her and she cant drive manuals, I spoke with Craig and yes the cats are manditory, I have already asked Craig to detail the mould joints and cut outs, (i didnt want to take the chance anything going wrong) thank you once again and if i can call on you again is it ok, sorry to be asking you but you are in NSW i thing like myself and you also have started a Pace build which makes it easyer to talk to someone on same page.
Hi Hail427, The PACE would definitely fit the Cleveland/Windsor hybrid and is a great combination. NSW requires emissions compliance (you are from Sydney right?) to the date built i.e. 2014 needing it to meet 2013 emissions regulations to be registered. If so speak to a NSW certified engineer (requirements are different state to state). I believe you would need to pass the IM240 test for NSW registration requiring good fuel injection system and catalytic converters. Other engines to consider is a Rousch motor, Ford Racing Direct, or on the dark side get a 6.2L LSA motor with double plate clutch, 6 speed tremec, and supercharger that can be brought in Australia for about 16k. Make sure you know what comes with the motor, you will either not need it or it shall be omitted. On build tips I have only just started mine: on the mould joins and assembling the suspension. RGF on the Australian Forum has some good photos. I would pay PACE the extra for them to do the body cut outs.
Hi P/ear
I am Hail427 from Sydney, I have Pace number 21
can you help me with my engine choice and other build steps please,
as I am thinking of a clevor engine and not sure what problems if any you may have dealt with, and also any problems you have overcome would help
I 'am sure with my build, It is still at the pace factory, but will soon need to be picked up and my work will begin so any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.
