Mirror mounted on the windshield versus the dash mount. Which is better?

I bought my cobra and the glued on mirror on the windshield fell off before I got it home. It was in place for about half of the trip home before it fell onto the floor. For the short time that I could use it I thought it vibrated a lot which made it hard to recognize anything in it.
Is the dash mounted mirror a better way to go? I thought I should ask before I re-glue the windshield mounted one back into place.
