Try FPA. They probably don't have headers specifically for a Cobra, but they probably have something that will work.

I had them in my 67 GT500 clone (a long time ago). I replaced Hooker Super...

Cool.

Btw, they are not a solid shaft. They are still tubing, but capped off at both ends.

Mine was completed in 1993 by someone else. I've had it 2+ years. The body is the least of your worries.

I have just over 30,000 miles on mine. I did the last 10,000 miles.

The steering rack...

You can find new or almost new Snap-On torque wrenches on E-Bay all day long.

They are still fairly expensive, but not nearly as expensive as losing a rod bolt due to improper torque. Don't ask.

Avons

I've had my Avons for about 2 months now, and I absolutely love them.

I missed the Goodyear Eagle letters at first, but the performance of these tires is fantastic. It's nice to get in the car,...

For what's it worth, the thrill doesn't go away, and neither does the recognition.

Don't park your car in the garage only to take it to shows. Drive it. A lot. You won't regret it.

The real...

TKO, TKO-600RR, Top Loader

I had a 428 with a TKO-3550 and 3.50 locker in a 67 mustang about 15 years ago. It was a bit tight - hard to shift fast. 5th gear was a little too high.

My Cobra came with a top loader and 3.54...

Bearing material?

I blew up a 351C about 15 years ago. It dropped a valve at about 5,000 rpms with a mostly stock bottom end. The pistons were cast, and they basically exploded - no kaboom, but there were aluminum...

Looks like pieces of a gear to me. You said you checked the distributor gear, and a piece was missing from the collar. What collar?

Maybe you lost a chunk from the distributor gear on the...

Thanks - squealing found

Thanks everyone for the help.

I put everything back together today, twisted half shafts and all. This is currently my daily driver, so I'll just drive it easy until I replace the half shafts. ...

half shaft - not axles

Hi Bob,

I didn't twist the axles on either end. It's the half-shaft in the middle. If you look closely, you should be able to tell in the photo.

Will.

Sorry for not responding in a few days. I don't get a lot of time to come to this website during the week.

I took a pic of the half shafts to show the twist.

I don't have a pic of the...

Jaguar IRS Half Shafts

I pulled my rear end apart 2 weekends ago to address a whine in the back right. This Contemporary is still fairly new to me, so I figured I'd replace u-joints, wheel bearings, etc., and if that...

Shops

Keith Craft's shop in Richardson wasn't really his. It was a partnership. Call it whatever you want.

The partnership/naming is gone, but the shop was there 5 years ago. They did excellent work....

Wow! That's got to be one of the worst stories I've ever heard. Okay, not the worst, I've heard some pretty and ones, but man!

I thought you were going to talk about seller's remorse.

I've spun 428s past 6,000 lots of times, and I wasn't worried about blowing them up. They didn't feel lazy either - even with stock/heavy pistons In fact, they revved faster than many of the 302s...

Not too much

2 Holley 600 vacuum secondary carburetors are not too much. The secondaries only open if they are needed, so it's basically the same as a 600 mechanical secondary with an extra 600cfm if you need...

Hi Classical Glass,

You can't identify a side oiler by casting numbers. FE casting numbers were all over the map.

No difference

I had a 428 in a 67 Mustang. It didn't leak, and it wasn't difficult to change plugs. You just have to use the proper extensions and universal joints.

It did not have thermactor, and it didn't...

I had previously spoken with Jim Inglese, and I may have him do the final tune once I'm done with it. At the time, he didn't want to sell me parts, and I didn't want to mail it all to him.

Tough or stupid

It was cold north of Florida, but it was a fantastic trip. I'm going to try to do at least one long Cobra drive each year of 2,000 miles or more - at least until I'm too old and crusty to enjoy it....
