It isn't really a "bandaid" to fit other engines. They just use the Mustang donor concept as a good marketing tool. Their intention from the beginning was to allow people without a huge budget...

call Factory Five Racing, they have bodies for about $2500. You can also talk to Mike Mack at Tristate Motorsports, he sells bodies in different styles very reasonably also.
