agree with earlier comments that this is likely an exhaust issue, probably loose header or burned thru exhaust gasket
had similar symptoms/cause on S/O motor...exhaust gasket was burned thru

the state of Wisc only used the digits in the Shelby VIN as the ID# ...i.e., CSX3208 was the VIN but had 3208 as an ID# on my registration back in the mid-60's
