I can't think of a good reason NOT to go LED at this point. You have to replace the socket anyway...you can cut the old socket and solder in an LED cluster directly to the harness now.

I believe starting in the 300 builds the seats got a little wider if I recall correctly. There was even talk about a wider than stock option available at one point. Maybe seats from a newer build...

The extra plugs are probably for a 2nd fan. Earlier cars came with 2 smaller fans, later changed to 1 big fan.
