Description: Hey guys,

Just wanted to put a post out there that I will be putting 6S825 on the open market in the next week. I am listing it here and on a few other various forums about a week early before it gets put on all the national advertising sites. 6S825 was the first Shelby I ever was able to purchase and it has served as a great car for the last three years. I have yet to own many other specifications of vintage Shelbys and by the time I am horizontal I want to be able to say that I have owned them all! For that reason, it is time to change it up and move on to something else. Specifics on the car are below along with a few photographs which I quickly shot yesterday afternoon. My photographer is currently out of the country, but when he returns next week I will have a full suite of high quality images of the car. Until then, what you see on this thread are the photos I have of the car along with a photobucket album full of impromptu pictures, including detailed underside photographs. If you have sincere interested in the car, I would be glad to give you the password to the photobucket album. Thanks for looking!

6S825 retains all of its original sheet metal, San Francisco car its entire life till 2009. Delivered to S&C Motors in San Francisco before being rented at the SF airport by Hertz. 3 owner car. All original drivetrain. No rust, ever. Factory blue hertz car, one of approx.. 50-55 such examples produced by Shelby American. 1st or 2nd owner didn’t want to look like he owned a used hertz car (common during that time) so he went about adding the white stripes and as many original over the counter accessories as he could! They include: original cobra dual carters on the small letter cobra intake, real wood wheel, original ten spokes, rare AM/FM radio, January 1966 dated bench seat, day-nite mirror, an autolite cigarette lighter/map light, and matching original blue mustang rubber floor mats still in the front with complimenting blue knock off MG Mitten mats in the back since Ford didn’t sell rear Mustang floor mats. You just don’t see many “Day 2” cars like this anymore. It is also worth noting that I do have the original, short style aircleaner screens along with the green foam filters. I forgot to mount those when I took the pictures. Though they do look better, the car runs much better with the traditional paper filters fitted as seen in the pictures.

Being a San Francisco Hertz car, it has the under dash mounted parking brake warning light which was unique to those cars. Last I had heard, something around 8 cars have been documented with SAAC as having that feature. Also, the car is a MICO master cylinder car. On the car currently is a repop 3 core radiator but with the car goes the original 10-65 dated WMO radiator which has been re-cored. I even have the original core which the next guy can have. It’s only worth something if someone wanted to build a concours car out of it, but still nice to have. Also have another spare, original MICO master cylinder which goes with the car along with a bunch of misc. spares that came off it when the car got freshened up 2 years ago by Jeff Yurgovich at R&A Motorsports.

It is worth noting that, if someone wants to go back to "stock" with the car, the over the counter accessories which are on the car are far more expensive than the stock parts which would be needed.

Interior is original from carpet to headliner. Of course, that doesn’t include the items which were accessorized...those are still original parts from 1966, they obviously aren’t "original" in the sense that they were on the car when it rolled off the assembly line. Original tach, original ray brown seat belts, etc etc...all with just the right amount of patina.

The car still retains its original Konis on all four corners. It is not for the guy that needs a cosmetically perfect car..but it is for the guy who wants a car which has never been screwed with, wrecked, abused, cut up, restored, or even taken a part. It has great integrity and the best bones you can get in one of these cars. Original red oxide floors are beautifully preserved drive shaft still showing paint markings and part numbers. Totally documented car which was in storage for 35 years with its second owner and was completely unknown to the club. Hence the reason why the registry entry is pretty much blank. The Shelby tag has never been off it and still has its original black rivets attaching it, all VINS were confirmed with Howard by looking under the apron instead of removing the tag. All Ford VINs are present in the locations where they should be.

Again, my thanks for taking a look at 6S825 and please let me know through forum PM, email, carrier pigeon, or call/text if I can be of any assistance to you. For the price, you can certainly find much more shiny cars, but you will be hard pressed to find another car as honest as this one, retaining its original sheet metal and its drivetrain.
