Description: Pete Brock is selling his complete, running 427 small block!

With the recent conversion of his Superformance Coupe to LS7 power Pete Brock is putting his rare Dart alloy block engine up for sale. This particular engine has a great history, as it was originally built for Dennis Olthoff by Ken Troutman of RDI, the Ford racing parts distribution office in the Mooresville area of NC. It originally dynoed at 635 for Olthoff’s Run and Gun entry in 2005. Peter Bought it for his new Superformance Coupe and had Ken rebuild it for the street with a hydraulic lifter Roller set up from Comp Cams. In this form it produced a more civilized 550 BHP. It ran this way in Pete’s coupe for 33,000 miles (no track work) mostly on long distance trips to cover racing events for the media. The engine features an alloy Dart racing block with four-bolt mains (about 100 lbs lighter than equivalent iron block) Edelbrock dual plane intake with matching Holley carb and nicely ported Edelbrock heads with all the trick valve work that Ken does. It has a Canton fully baffled oil pan. The upper end features Jessell rockers, with lightweight retainers and springs capable of turning far more RPM than the Comp cam and hydraulic lifters will sustain, so they’ve not had a hard life. Internally It’s got an Eagle stroker crank and rods (just had the bottom end off for inspection all the bearings look good) There’s a scratch in one bore, so figure new pistons for a rebuild whenever you get around to it. Even though the engine runs well; with this mileage it should be considered a “parts engine”, as the cost of all the parts easily surpasses the asking price. Another rebuild will bring it up to spec, but figure a re-bore, new pistons, rings, all gaskets, a new set of valve springs with a matching valve job. This is a perfect “interim” engine that can be used to set up a new chassis until the owner has time to install the planned engine or rebuild this one as the killer.

Asking $12,000 obo in the next 30 days. Engine is in the Detroit area for local pick-up or inspection, Shipping to another location extra.
