All Brent's engines have a throttle-you should only use what you're comfortable with. 
You could add a throttle stop (as I did) easily to limit WOT until you're comfortable-in my case, to prevent over-centering the linkage.

What did you use as a throttle stop? Sounds like a good idea to get used to the car.
