Racing Fuel

I'm just curios is somebody run Racing Fuel in a 460 ?
I ask because the quality of the Pump gas here in Aruba is a Joke but we have lots of Dragster Guys and a Strip here and i can get Race fuel for mi Hi-Tech, will that harm or gain ??

It won't hurt a thing since your engine is built for unleaded fuel with hardened valve seats. You will love the smell as well as the performance. May need to re-adjust your timing and carb but that is no big deal.

Clois is correct as usual. One of the guys here that had a 460 built up ran 110 Leaded Racing gas in it all the time and it worked great. He never would try the unleaded 110, but I think it would have worked about as well as he had the hardened valve seats and all. He was running dual carbs and had to have them adjusted and set the timing a little.

I ran a barrel of VP 105 through my 460,and loved everything about it.My only hassle was storing the fuel in my garage. Now use 91 octane no issues and feel much safer.

If the octane is notably higher than needed you'll loose power.

Here in AZ they sell the 100 unleaded at a few stations out of the pump. It works nice in a Roush 427R.

The higher typical other pump gas around her is about 91. It will destroy the pistons in the 427R with the tune I had.

I vacation in Aruba every July, beautiful place. I will be keeping an eye out for you cruising around.
