A good friend has a 429 in a Heritage Cobra. The engine seems to sit high in the engine bay and consequently the Distributor (Self contained MSD) is rather tall, impacts a usable Air Filter and is visable through the Hood Scoop. Are there shorter distributors? :(

I use a Ford Duraspark. It is 2.8" shorter than the MSD it replaced. It works fine with the MSD 6AL. I kept the mechanical advance and set it to 11 degrees initial and 21 degrees all in by 2500 rpm.

I have the 8577 on mine. Not much clearance, but it fits.
