Bare Block 460 Build

In my shop all torn down all cleaned is my 460 bare block all bores were very clean no scoring...whew you never know off CL as I drove 2 hours one way the kid said he had 3 and I could pick anyone I wanted..fair enough said they were his dads. All that's left is to pop out the cam bearings tool on order. I'm lucky to research the rods and they are the CJ/Truck casting D6VE-AA so I'm only going to keep them.

Pistons ?..press on
Camshaft?...extreme power and thump with good idle
Heads?...I did buy a set of Dove-C heads
Intake?
Carb?..manual choke

Thanks Cobra Team...Cheers!

Has anyone here used a Scotty cam he's out of Washington?

Barnfind62,

I assume you're referring to Scotty J (aka The Mad Porter) in Tacoma, WA. I met with Scotty last year to discuss my 460 based engine build options. While I haven't used his services yet, your post caught my eye. Was hoping others here who may have used his cams might reply, as you'd asked. However, didn't see any while your post was still at the top.

So if it's of any use, on Scotty's Facebook page (RHP / ReinCarnation High Performance), if you click the Reviews link, there are a couple referring to cams. The first is from a customer that bought a cam from Scotty for his own engine builder to assemble, and he relates what his builder had to say about it. May be of some use to you. If you don't get direct third party response here, you may consider requesting references from Scotty, he reflects one or more BBF Cobra engine customer(s) on his Facebook. Good luck...Brent
