460 swap headers

I have a 95 cobra and I am putting a 514 with 460 aluminum cobra jet heads and I am having a hard time finding headers to fit my apllication. Does anyone know of anyone who makes swap headers for this application or am I going to have to fabricate a set myself. any info is appreciated

Try giving Total Performance a call at 1-586-468-3710. Ask to speak to Ron Reader or Tom Magyar. They specialize in engine swaps for all the Fords, and they may have a set on the shelf.

If they don't have them, they can tell you who does!!

Good luck!!

Kooks headers in upstate New York, they have a website check it out. I had 86 GT mustang with 514 with cobrajet heads, bought their headers, unbelievable sound, unbelievable fit, unbelievable quality. I tried to get them build a set for BDR cobra, they wanted the car, pretty hard to do living in Texas. I do believe that they have sets in stock for your application. Man I'm telling you won't regret buying their products, unbelievable.

Your best bet is to contact the co. who made your car and they will have headers for your BB. But if your make Cobra didn't offer a BB, and you have made motor mounts yourself, you cannot purchase headers and will have to have them custom made. It's no big deal.
Good luck,Tim

All good leads but the reality of this situation is dominated by the many, many varibles your particular car layout requires. Shelf stock shortie or blockhugger styles may work, but are a compromise at best. (I've found on Cobras.) Exhaust performance on Cobras is DOMINATED your side pipe design or exaust systems design. No header design will be effective unless you keep this in mind. Re; headers, generally, the longer longer the runners are, the better off you will be. But that is a hard thing to do on a Cobra.
I've built several 385 style engines for 3 different Cobras down through the years. In each of those builds, a custom set of headers that was unique to that build was required. And that's the long and the short of it in my mind. To do it right, you are going to have to bite the bullet on this one I've found. Anything else is just a compromise. You can however price shop this one, of course. And if you are any good at welding a custom set is not a terribly hard thing to do. Each set I built took about 8-10 hours to build. Parts can be sourced locally or through www.headersbyed.com
