MSD 6AL & MSD 8580 Distributor

Anyone using this combination on a 460ci?

Is it worth the investment $$?

Any thoughts or opinions?

Easy to setup and run?

Yep - Used that dist. together with a 7AL though. It's been o.k. but I suggest you move the 6AL box to the inside of your car, as exaust heat could whack it out. I've also been using bronze gears on the dist. with no problems so far. To be honest, some of the guys around here have had no luck with the bronze gears though.

Hi S_Beaudry,

Been using that exact combination for over 10K miles with no problems whatever.

The 6AL unit is mounted on the top inside of the passenger side footbox for protection.

The 8580 has the steel gear supplied by Crane for their hyd roller cam. If you install the gear (any gear!) make sure it is positioned correctly!

Enjoy!

Tom
