460 turbo? supercharged?
Thank you for helping me with the past forum. I have decided to get a 460 big block and make it just for a blower, now I have one question....
?Turbo or Supercharger? |
supercharger??
if you decide to go with a Scharger, I have one that I am planning on selling. I custom fabricated all the brackets intake etc. I also have a killer fuel injection setup includingt a blower cam & lifters. Check out my gallery for pics. I blew this motor last fall and am parting ot out. all the damage was in the number 1 cylinder (sucked a valve) motor had less than 400 miles on it when this happened! Let me know if you can use any parts! if not, disregard this post!

Detonation resistance is key.
If you're running pump gas, the #1 consideration is to build the engine as detonation resistant as possible.
How? Aluminum heads. Low compression. Ceramic coated pistons and chambers. The right cam. Reasonable boost levels, tuning, and constant monitoring! And, it goes without saying that the components chosen need to be appropriate for the power and rpm you are going to generate. Quality rods, crank, pistons are a must. My combo can be seen here: http://www.racesystems.com/cobra It's a 433" BBF with a custom V7-JT Vortech setup, fuel injected. 7.88:1 compression, 14psi, 91 octane. I'm using CP pistons, billet crower rods, a forged 429 heavy truck crank, 4-bolt billet mains, aluminum blue thunder heads that flow 410/310, solid roller valvetrain. I should have it running this spring...I'll post dyno data. |
