Dual 4 bbl's on a 460?
Are any of you guys running a dual quad setup on a 429/460, and is hood clearance an issue? I know plenty of the FE guys are, without problems...but I don't recall even seeing a 2-4bbl manifold available for the 429/460. Just wondering.

AP,
One of the guy's here is running dual 4s on his 429. They had to get the intake from one of the after market places as Ford never made any. And yes, he had to have a larger hood scoop made for clearnace. But it all turned out really nice as the person that did the scoop really made it look as if it fit on the hood.

blue thunder 2x4 460 intake.
Can some one tell the price of this intake? Or if someone has one for sale how much do you want. I have two 450's on a tunnel ram but if this dosen't work out I would still like to run the two fours.

Tony, those quads sure look nice. I have a 460 FR with dual plane RPM Performer/Holley 770 in my SPF. Not being much of a gearhead, can you tell me the benefits of 2 quads vs. one quad, other than they look fantastic? :)

RNT..I would think better fuel distribution to each cylinder would be the major benefit...the dual quads gave me better 2500 to 6000 rpm performance over the original 750/performer rpm manifold. The progressive linkage of front to back carbs combined with vacuum secondaries makes for good transition for non perfprmance driving.
The dual air filters are restrictive due to there size but you can still feel the improvement of the 2... 4's.

Yeah, real restrictive! :)
Tony gave me a ride in this beast this past Spring, and I think I got back to the starting point about 3 minutes after the car did. Hey, I fly jets, and even I was impressed with the speed. This sucker screams. Thanks again, Tony - hope to see you again soon.
