Boss 429

Will a Boss 429 fit in a Superformance?

I'm really, really hoping it will!!

Thanks

IF it does, thank God that you'll be able to get to the spark plugs through the valve covers!!!

dont know the shoulder specs of the boss niner motor vs the 4.6 L ford modular motor..but the very latest spf's have a redesigned engine bay and steering linkage assembly that will now allow a 4.6L to be installed. prior versions would not allow a 4.6L modular engine to fit...suspect the boss niner is much wider and would be surprised if it would fit, but don't know. those nines look great and i saw pics of one stuffed into a cobra replica, but dont recall which brand it was. As i recall it is also a very heavy engine. and yes, as stated, the plugs would be easier to replace..bill.

Larry. as I was flipping through one of my old Mustang and Ford magazines, I came across the dimentions of the Boss 9 and the 4.6...

4.6 (SOHC and DOHC)- 36 inchs wide, 36 inches long, 44 inches tall (With all the accessories)

Boss 429- 30 Inches wide, 34 inches long, 30 inches tall (without the front accessories/carburetor)

Hope your adventure works out well... These figures are from the September 2004 edition of Mustang and Ford magazine... page 60-61.
