Keith Black Pistons & Ford Racing Camshaft

Hello, I have just ordered the Keith Black 401 dome Pistons ( 060. 11-1 compression with the 97cc heads ) along with the Ford Racing camshaft M-6250-C460, Hydralic cam with 588/614 lift for my 460ci engine, what I would like to know is will the stock Ford head and cap bolts handle the high compression of 11-1 ? what head gaskets to use copper or stock , My 460ci is a D9TE block can I use this camshaft. with my cast heads which have new 2.25 inlet valves and 1.76 exhaust , both inlet & exhaust ports have been opened up to Cobra Jet specs. I am thinking of having the Crankshaft & Conrods balanced as my 460ci is Externally balanced, Which is best for Performance- Internal or External Balance, as not to many people know much about 460ci engines down here in Australia.... Thanks Jamie. AUSTRALIA.

At 11:1, you won't have any problems with a quality stock style head gasket and stock head bolts. Stay away from copper head gaskets in anything but a dedicated racing engine, and even then they're a pain.

The block will need no mods for that cam, but you will of course need aftermarket valve springs and rockers.

On the balance issue, under 6000rpm it doesn't really make a difference. If your rpm's are higher than that, internal gets the nod.
