1969 460

I am having a 1969 460 built. I chose that year block because in NY the emissions are based on the year of the motor. PVC is all that is required in 69.

Question: Since I changed from a 1973 block to the 69 block I was curious if there was a difference. Is one better than the other?

Thanks.

If you can get a 429 SCJ 4-bolt main block, that would be great. Other than that, they're all the same

The early blocks have a little shorter deck hieght than the later blocks, so if you zero decked with the 73 and you're switching over the rotating assy, the pistons might end up above deck. If they are, just have the machine shop shave the pistons. .010-.020 off the top won't hurt a thing.
