514 operating temp.
Hi fellas, I have an svo514 in my car and it usually runs around 190deg. When I pull a mountain run or hit heavier traffic on the fwy the temp climbs to about 205deg (at least according to my guage). When I park though i get some puking out of the overflow. what is the upper temp operating range of this engine? Anyone.... thanks!

205 is really no big deal.. sounds like you need a higher pressure cap and maybe a beter overflow system. My engine has seen 225 degrees many times with no problems.

I don't think you have a temp problem.
You may be overfilling the tank/rad.

Do you have an expansion tank? If so, that should only be about half full. I was in dead stop traffic the other day for about a half hour with the temps outside around 95 or higher, and mine never went over 100 deg cel.

thanks y'all....I do have an expansion tank and I keep it about 1/2 full. I'm thinkin that because my 180 deg header is about 1/8th in. away from the bottle that i might just be boiling it right there. guess I'll try a heat wrap on it an see what happens.....thanks for all your tips!!
ps...nice avatar 392...my eyes will be bouncing for awhile...
