Timming issue
As always, whenever I have a problem it seems to always be a weird one. I have a locked out MSD dist. with a MSD electric timing control hooked up to a MSD 6al box. The car has been running pretty good but thought it has run beter at times. So I thought I would check the timing (with the proper non adjustable light) and at idle, my timing mark is pointing to nothing! I mean the timing degree #'s are a third of the way around the damper. How could this be? My dist. is at the same aprox. place it has always been and it won't turn without the engine dying to try to find the degree #'s. What gives?

make sure your timing light is connected to #1 spark plug wire

jumped a tooth on the chain, the dampner spun on the rubber,
the crank key is slowly shearing itself off. have you used the same light before? some don't work right with the msd.

Thanks guys. I'm fairly sure I was hooked up to #1, but I've done goofier things befor. I'll also check the damper as well. Thanks again.

make sure the Dist. Vacuum is pulled from the Dist and the Carb. plug both ports and that should bring the mark back around for you

Thats odd my old post came up. Mr. Jim was right, wrong plug wire. I've had the #1 wire in the front of my wire loom forever, somehow it's in the #2 position now. But I figured it out.
