This has been some entertaining reading.We are still talking Replicars,who should really give a hoot about the correct engine as long as we are happy with just being in a Cobra.My 460 powered car is correct in everyway except for not having an FE.For me the choice was easy,the 385 was the best bang for the buck hands down.Heck when I first started thinking about building a Cobra I was considering a 427 BowTie! Who said that?

Interesting indeed. Back to the question of the original topic - 390 for correctness, 460 for everything else you want :D My F5R is correct in every way except for the color, body type, engine, gauges, transmission, wheels, tires, suspension, carpet, and oh yeah, the radiator. But you know what, I bet I have as much fun driving mine (13,000 miles in 3 years of ownership) as you do in your correct replica :D Plus, 460's are easy to find parts for.
