Unique 427SC up for grabs
Just got her back from the body shop. I rolled into the back of an old pickup at a stoplight while fidgeting with a visor that had popped out of its bracket. Nothing major, just a couple of paint wounds about the size of half dollars (remember those?) I said "screw it" and took her to Collision 985 where they basically refinished her from the nose back to the cockpit. No more gravel dings - just like new. Aside from tepid market conditions, I think this is a good time to part company as I'm trying to secure property in Panama. For more info, go to my blog: www.radfordrules.com and look at the album "The other child".
I'm thinking $40K for the car, open trailer and Kwiklift. Plenty of pictures in the gallery, but in summary: Unique 427; Torch Red / White Stripes Polished 427 Windsor stroker by Southern Automotive Toploader Jag IRS 30K miles on the car - much less on the engine, tires and tranny Trailer was my original prototype for Serpent Express. It's upgrageable to a full SE with the addition of a cover kit. This was my third attempt to hit the "submit" button. Don't know how long I'll have the courage to let her go, but I'm diving in head-first! Please - no tire kickers |

what rear end ratio do you have? Dwight |
It's a 3.31:1

We have several Uniques in the area. Fabulous Cobras.
One of the best Cobras you can buy. I hope you don't sell it.:) Dwight |
Dwight, I may eventually pull it off the market if it doesn't go pretty soon. I figure that it looks so pristine with the new paint work, now is the time. Worse case is I ship her to Panama and tear up some of those mountain roads. I'm committed to leaving the country prior to retirement so I can live with some quality.

Tony WTF are you leaving the country? :)
We have explored the same thing - Panama - 50's cost of living. :) |
Hey Randy! Gloria and I went down to Boquette for a week to check out the place and compare it to the hoopla in the media. We found it to be just as advertised. Fantastic place. We were there in late July at a restaurant standing in front of a blazing fireplace as it was in the low 60s outside. We checked out most of the gated communities and spoke to a number of US expats. Insurance for a family of four - $800/year. I met a guy there in his third year of fighting liver cancer. He said the MRI and CT Scan equipment blew away the ones in his Chicago hospital. Prescription drugs a quarter of the price here. The scenery beyond beautiful. We're looking forward to getting back down there.

Interesting.
Next time you are in the Alpharetta area give me a ring - we can do lunch. |

You don't have to worry about exchange rates either! I'm tosed between Panama and Costa Rica. Nicaragua was a potential till Chavez's flunky got back in power. |
Alex, check out Escape from America Magazine www.escapefromamerica.com. It's a pretty informative publication aimed at expats. Also International Living. It's a bit more commercial aimed largely at real estate in various expat targets. As I understand it, Costa Rica has reached their threshold for tolerance of US expats and is actually rolling back their pensionado laws. What I like about Panama is:
- Where Costa Rica was twenty years ago (USified). - Panama Canal pumps a $billion per year largely going to infrastructure. - Boquete has been rated top of the list for us expatriation for several years. Plus I've visited there to confirm what I've seen in the media. Been to Costa Rica, but it's been years. Ecuador is really coming on strong. There's a piece of coast on the northwest side that has just become reachable due to the highway from Quito being resurfaced and widened. |
