Question about Shelby Am. Inc chassis number
 
Does a Shelby American, Inc. chassis number tag riveted to the chassis mean anything? Is this a scam?

In most cases yes. You really need the Vin to check.
If I were to make a guess I'd say 99+% are fake. Personally I don't subscribe to those fake data plates. Sort of a like a Comb-over, doesn't fool anyone but yourself.
"My fake Cobra is more fake than your fake Cobra" is a term I use.

I forgot to mention this is attached to a '67 AC Cobra replica (don't know builder) for sale. $52K.
