being a "BIG" motor guy

it has always amazed me how you get the job done with small equipment. Must be in the massaging of them heads. Keep up the small work!!

Are you still buying that line from Mr. Parn - HAM? or is that Turkey?

Cracker - you rascal
I rounded down to 660 on purpose, did the church folks put you up to the 666. BTW my drivers license no begins with 666 - maybe someone is trying to tell me something.
The numbers are great, few SO motors get in that range.

Time for a road trip?

End at my place with pizza and beer furnished - anyone volunteer to organize? Structure is not my strong suit.

Cracker 07-15-2003 04:58 PM

Installation is planned...

on Friday the 25th. Road trip sounds good for Sunday the 27th Maybe meet somewhere at 6:66:LOL: for dinner?

Cracker 07-15-2003 07:56 PM

Thanks guys, I think?

Congrats on your ride Randy! We are both going to have so much fun just enjoying our rides. Lets earmark Sunday the 27th for a get together & drive. I'll post a thread out on our site.

First real trip out was uneventful and rewarding. I am a bit nervous, kinda like I used to be when I did test flights in the army. Scanning the gauges, listening for the odd sounds and different vibrations all the while knowing that I was too excited to notice much of anything and grinning like a fool.

I think with the group we have up here we can do some great fall drives up north. I'm pumped :3DSMILE: Hope the weather is good this weekend.

Dyno

Who did your dyno work. I am about a week from having my new motor ready, and want to run it in on a dyno this time for sure.

Thanks, Jeff Neely

Cracker 07-16-2003 02:17 PM

Jeff, give me a call and we'll discuss the dyno and why you may not want to go my route. Thanks!

Jeff do you want to complete the dyno before you install the motor ? If not then you will find several chassis dyno's in the Marietta area. I plan to pay one of them a visit after breakin to fine tune the fuel air ratio.

Randy

Cracker 07-16-2003 06:13 PM

That needs to be one of our get togethers. We schedule a day at one of these chasis dyno's and get a break and have a great time. All interested say "I".

Tony I have discussed this with two dyno shops and we can get a deal as a club event. I'm pretty sure it was $50 each with a minimum of 3 pulls each.
The record hp at the wheels, an astounding 730 by a Toyota Supra. We will all be humbled - even you BB guys.

Randy

Cracker 07-16-2003 07:33 PM

For one thing the TURBO was bigger than the engine and the other if isn't a 40 year old engine pushing 8 corks it don't count. Heck, what does a top fuel dragster spin at the wheels? 5400
I'm stepping off my soapbox now. It would be fun and provide plenty of amunition for all - some just might find out there shooting water instead of lead!

By the way, the BB boys have John Owen on our side - brawns & brains!

As TC points out,

"Dyno numbers are for show. Track times are for the dough."

We need to schedule the dyno day soon, mid August, and track time late August or September.

I'll call the dyno shop and find out what Sat is open. I'll start a new thread and list dates and cost etc.

dyno

Georgiasnake, I want the engine dyno because, it is an engine that has no credablity(genises). So I want to make shure befor I spend all sorts of time pulling an engine that works fine to put one in that is a total hope it holds together.
