newbie

Just a post to say hello. New to the forum but nuts about the
Cobra. Here to learn as much as possible and to live vicariously through you lucky folks. Anyway, thought i'd introduce myself. Hope you don't mind a bimmer guy snooping around you horsepower hounds. BTW- not mechanically inclined but willing to help anyone who needs a second (dumb) hand to weekend work w/ proviso that I may drool on your ride. Look forward to chatting with you all. awesome site, wish i woulda found it earlier.....

Welcome newbie

Owning a Cobra is not a requirement on the site as many do not so feel welcome. I too am a Bimmer guy but it does not compare in my humble opinion once you step on the GO peddle. Show up at one of our gatherings and I promise you will enjoy our members.

Jon,

Welcome and thanks for the volunteer of spare hands. Are you sure you want to offer that? :3DSMILE: I have lot's to do!! ;) ;) Watch this site and you will be tuned into any Cobra events that are happening.

Are you active in BMWCCA? Any track time?

re:spare hands etc.

nope, not a member of BMWCCA or have any track time. our weekend travel schedule takes care of that. the caveat with the spare hands is that i'm an information nut. i'm curius to what is 'authentic', whats not if its 'correct', if not why etc., not to mention needing a beginners course on basic mechanics. my dad-in-law is a car nut (yenko's) and I'm always asking the same stuff. the only way to learn, much like my profession, is hands on experience.:3DSMILE:

i totally agree with you on the adrenaline/seat of the pants feel of a big block...just gotta design quite a few more houses. lemme know if you guys are getting together this weekend...in-town for once.

Jon,
Welcome to the forum. It'll make you happy to know there is a Cobra that uses BMW suspension parts. Backdraft. Check them out.

Cobras like intown in winters...and I use the term "like" very loosely. They like to run and eat gobs of SPACE in a hurry. DO NOT hold your breath for many event significantly inside the perimeter unless HOOTERS girls are involved.

Makes sense...however, context was i'm not 'out of town'. c'mon, you don't wanna drive those beasts on teeth rattling atl roads? hehehe. the roads intown stink for even my little 328i. can't imagine hustling a big block over shirley gurl's road improvement plan. :D
