Brisk and beautiful ride in!
45 degrees, but the sun is shining (the one benefit of being off daylight savings time) and with the exception of the few usual overturned vehicles, pedestrian fatalities and multi-car pile ups, traffic was pretty smooth for an Atlanta morning rush hour. I decided to transcend the usual boring 45 minute trip to work in the pick up and opt for an exhilarating roadster ride. I was surprised at how quickly the stroker fired up, having no choke of any kind. That BG carb continues to make me happy. Soft leather gloves, ski cap, Oakley glasses, medium coat and my favorite 50s & 60s hotrod CD pumping through the stereo (I know, get over it!) - off I go. I can't even describe how much fun that new motor is. Ahhh, the feeling of total road dominance. Metro busses, overloaded construction vehicles, women in SUVs putting on make up while jabbering on the cell phone, nothing gets in my way. Give me 20 feet of clearance and I'm outta here! That dense, cool morning air might not be giving me an additional 20 HP, but it sure feels like it does! Any way, that's it. My face is sore from smiling so much. Time to get to work.

You taking writing lessons fron Hal Copple??? Makes me feel like I got the wind in my hair. By the way saw 2 fast 2 furious on pay per view last nite no oscars but it was fun. I can see why the rice burners would only take on a camero and dodge. 2 cobras with nitrox would never have been caught |
"2 cobras with nitrox would never have been caught". Alex, you may be right, but if I had nitros on my car, I'd be alive for about 10 minutes. Some thing were simply not meant to be!

Tony,
Took the car out today for the 10th last time for the year and tomorrow will be the 11th last time for the year. Weather in Ohio is amazing for this time of year.. 54 degrees today and 60's tomorrow... This time last year I picked up the car from FIAFRED in Florida and trailered it home only to park it for six long months because of snow. Tomorrow I'm going to try to put 150 miles on it "just to do it".. Next week they're still calling for unseasonably warm weather... THANK GOD FOR GLOBAL WARMING..... |
Casaleenie, I remember when Fred still had your car. He was living down in Brandon where I grew up. I also remember when he drove the Cobra from Brandon to Atlanta and back during a three day weekend. That's over 1,000 miles in three days. That says a lot about Fred's ambition and how solid your car is. Good motoring!

Tony I may drive mine to work tomorrow. Wife is having a huge garage sale Fri and Sat and she needs the space. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
