need to narrow 8.8 in ATL???

Anyone know who shortens rear ends in Atlanta?

ToyCollector 03-30-2004 08:37 AM

People who tailgate?

Call Barnett Performance and get some recommendation of some Drag Race shops.

Thanks TC, I am headed down there in an hour to get my new MSD dist.

Most of the 8.8 axles cannot be resplined unless you shorten more than 4" per side. Send it to Moser to shorten the housing and make new axles. They have fixtures to get the housing straight, which small shops don,t.

I'll second the recomendation on Moser, they did the 9" for my CJ8. Cut and resplind the axles and narrowed the housing. I think it cost about $160.

Thanks, I looked first at Mosers site, but wanted to get around shipping it off. I have been told that a guy named Buster at Grant Muffler is good, but I have not talked to him.

ToyCollector 04-01-2004 09:11 PM

Buster may just ship it to Moser.

Ship it to Moser and be done with it. While you wait, we can work on my car.

What are "we" doing to your car now??? I thought it was done. Whatever it is, I'll be glad to throw a tool at it!
