Looking for someone to check out a potential Cobra purchase in Atlanta!

Hey guys, I am looking at a Cobra offered for sale in the Atlanta area. If anyone down there could suggest a local Cobra specialist that may be able to check it out for me prior to my coming down that would be great. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Feel free to reply to this thread or email me at jtarnow@lehman.com

Thanks!

Josh

But can we be trusted ?
Who's Cobra is it ?

We are all 'specialists'... according to us:D (but that brings us back to Johan's point....)

but seriously, we likely know the car if it's in the Atlanta area. What else can you tell us about it? More info and we can try to help.

Trusted? I certainly hope so!

It's at South Atlanta Motorsports...red with a white stripe. To start with is South Atlanta Motorsports a place to be trusted? I have no reason to think they are crooks but then again I have no idea. It's a Classic Roadster 427 big block. I fully expect to have to tend to the motor (seems like it was pushed a bit over the past 10 or so years) but would like to have someone check out the mechanicals (do a simple compression test on each cylinder, check out the tranny, clutch, differential, frame, etc.). Also, I don't know if the Classic Roadster fiberglass lay-up was the thin cruddy stuff or the more solid .25 inch glass. Anyway, I would love to have someone comfortable giving a hands on opinion of these types of things before I come down there. Any thoughts guys?

JOSH - Not to side step your question but have you seen BIGEASY's everett morission for sale? It is simply terrific w/ one of the cleanest and most reliable BB around! Check his car out under the "car for sale section". I don't know what your budget is but it would be a can't miss at his asking price! I'm heading out of town M - F this week so I can't do the research for you - sorry and best wishes!

Cracker beat me to it.

Josh emailed me offline asking if I knew of anyone in the Atlanta area to look at a car for him. He apparently came across my name on the DSCC website (or somewhere...) I recommended that he post a thread here. Glad to see that you did, Josh. These guys are great.

It didn't occur to me when you emailed me, but one of Atl guys (BigEasy) has an EXCEPTIONAL car for sale right now. It may or may not be in your budget range, but I can assure you that it's a nice one. Really nice. I'll edit this post in a moment to include a link to his "for sale" thread.

EDIT - CLICK HERE to see BigEasy's thread.

I've never heard of South Atlanta Motorsports ... got a link to them or something?

I "3rd" the suggestion on having a look at Big Easy's car. Very nice.

It's hard to imagine getting more for the money than BigEasy's EM. It's a nice clean reliable car and we know the owner can be trusted.

Hey Atl CC Guys;

Appreciate all the input on my car---I just spoke to Josh and he's reviewing some more pics.

I'm getting that rather queasy feeling in my stomach that tells me my car may soon be leaving my garage:CRY: -- one of those "be careful what you ask for" things---when it happens, you start rethinking the decision:(
