South Atlanta Dyno Facility

Hi my name is Andy from Allspeed Inc in Peachtree City. I just thought I would invite you to look at our website www.allspeedimports.com . We have hosted several groups like yours for dyno events and enjoy putting together these types of things. We were featured in VW Trends and Hot Vw's magazines for an event that we did a couple of months ago. Our group rate is $35 for three runs and I will give your highest number of the day theirs for free. If any of you are interested please give us a call here at the shop at 770-631-3966. We hope to hear from you here on the board and hopefully on the phone.
Thanks,
Andy Hutson

Yeah! been by there a couple of times, Impressed with their facility, I especially
like the sign over the dyno, 'THE TRUTH',
or something like that?. I'm sure some have been humbled after spending $$$$$$$. Soon as I get these in-lines tuned in, I'm gonna try it.

Is there someone who I can get in touch with who does most of your event coordinating?

Uh .. yeah .. right. This is an informal 'club'. There isn't a President or Board of Directors or event coordinator. It's just a bunch of Cobra owners and enthusiasts in the Atlanta area who have a place to jaw-jack.

If there's a gathering planned, then whoever wants to spearhead the idea jumps out front and steers from there.

Bud has it right, and we like it that way - now if you guys could wait until mid-July, it would be great for me. My motor has one more out-of-body experience in its future, after the Willis, then I would love to play. Our most regular volunteer as social director, Cracker, is without at the moment, so we need a new candidate-

Thank GOD my car sold!:p

GeorgiaSnake 06-17-2004 07:28 PM

I'm game if the comparision is VW based.

JO another out of body experience - you are going to need new 2x4's if you keep this up. I'm in Savannah next week and the week after if you want to get a beer and bench race.

I called the guys at Allspeed this morning and made a dyno date for next Saturday. Assuming no thunderstorms, I'm there.

svobud 06-18-2004 08:04 PM

sorry - I'll be working next weekend.

I put a rather lengthy post on Chill's Donut Derelict thread, but I need to fire in a plug on this one as well. I drove the little red car down to Allspeed this morning and spent the whole day there. The guys made a butt-load of pulls, numerous jet changes, lots of timing and carb adjusts and got her singing like a bird. My ears are still ringing. They were amazingly attentive to detail and were familiar with Demon carbs. As is usually the case, I would like to have ended up with more HP and torque on paper, but I am convinced that they rung out all there was to give. I ended up around 385 HP and 400 torque, which was an improvement of around 35 on both sides. I was specifically interested in getting the carb set right since I've been all over the map on jets. Low end power is noticably greater. They know their dynojet. I highly recommend them. Fun bunch of guys.

I simply MUST get a car hauler.

GeorgiaSnake 06-27-2004 04:32 AM

Hey Tony - Be happy :D Those are pretty good numbers for rwhp and within 10 of what I thought you would get. Plus you came away with more than you started with - all in all pretty neat.

Based on your numbers I should be around 350 at the wheels.

Randy

Cracker 06-27-2004 04:53 AM

TR - you have a PM waiting and...

484 hp is very good for a small block! I'd be proud of that number as well - heck, on the engine dyno I'm over 500 but after exhaust, assessories, etc, etc. I'm hoping for 350 at the wheels.
