Desert dumbie needs info
I messed up, but need some info. In my haste to get intel on last weedend's NASA event at Road Atlanta, I posted an inquiry on the Deep South site instead of yours.
My Atlanta pal, Porche 911 driver, sent me a shot of him dicing it up with a couple of Cobras last weekend. He told me his side of the story (he likes to go fishing too, if that helps explain things), but I wanted to learn the truth...I mean, hear the story from a Cobra perspective.
Anybody know these cars and what's under the bonnet?

It looks like a spec racer in the photo you attached - which would mean it's a FFR with 200rwhp (or less). Have you posted the question on the www.ffcobra.com site? They have a specific Spec Racer forum.

I thought if anyone would know...it would be the locals.

I'm the local guy! The event was a NASA SE regional event. They are of course open to all NASA members. There was a Factory Five spec series racers with about 6 or so participants. This included the FFR factory team. The organizers batched several groups to make economical (large enough) sense. there were probably over one hundred entrants. One of the advantages of being here is you get to go to all the happanings. NASA is starting a Kit Car Challange series. I took a couple of cars for photo runs for their publicity efforts. Chuck Beck was there with a couple of Listers and the famous Spyder 550. So we got some laps in. The Kit car challenge link is www.kitcarchallenge.com and NASA info is www.NASA-southeast.com the intent is to have gentlemenly racing for kitcars. I'm working with NASA now on spec and safty equipment. We're working on a bolt-in coll bars system that can be removed easily and not screw up the interiors of these cars.
I hope this gets your interest up and you check it out. I hope it helps. Good to see Cracker out sluming in the country today. OH blatant sales plug here. I took a Viper Competition Coupe in today for all you future road racers or possible drift car. Come and get it.
