Peachtree Road Race?

Anyone in this group planning to run the Peachtree? My wife and I do it every year. Just wondering if any other Cobra-philes will be there. Or maybe you'll be on the sidelines having a beer and cheering for the rest of us?

Somehow, we managed to snag TG 2 numbers this year. Someone must've made a mistake somewhere because we do NOT run that fast! We'll stay on the right-hand side with the slow traffic, I guess.

Is there any passing allowed?
Can you pass anywhere with a wave by?
What is the track like?
How many sesssions do we get?

Hey Keith I thought you were coming to the Willis this year!

Had to cancel on the Willis because I was in England for two weeks. I will admit that England was nice.

Passing is allowed anywhere on the course.
A wave-by is not required, but bumping (while it can be fun at times) is frowned upon.
The course has very little run-off room, no flagmen, and no tire barriers. The spectators stand far too close for comfort (similar to Rally racing) and there are simply too many hills.
Believe me, you'll only want ONE session.

But hey, at least you get a T-shirt out of it. :D

How come ..........?

Every friggin road near Atlanta is named Peachtree? Gawd, Peachtree Lane, Peachtree Industrial, Peachtree Blvdl., and on and on and on......

There seems to be more Peachtree roads than Waffel Houses!

Inquiring minds want to know**)

Peachtree Rd

Scott,

Seems I'm shadowing you on your posts regarding the south. Atlanta is a funny city with regards to street nomenclature. I live 1 1/2 miles from Lenox (start of the road race) and flee the city every year prior to the event. If you think that Atlanta is bad with street names, try Charlottesville Va. The roads are much more confusing and changes names 2-3x on any given continuous street. Atl is pretty easy to navigate so long as you have a basic understanding of p'tree's orientation (not a due north south road) Peachtree turns into Peachtree Industrial btw. as you go north out of Atlanta proper.
