p.s. ... TC, if you are out there, have you figured out the welder? I have a broken bracket I need to have welded.

DavidH 07-02-2004 08:40 PM

Hey Cracker, I get back in town tomorrow morning. If I can pry myself away from mowing the grass and you are available I'd love to come by and see the new investment.

hcollado 07-03-2004 07:37 AM

Randy, I hear you, but I can’t see you!!!

It seems all I do now days is watch the rain fall and let the car idle in the garage. The carbon monoxide is killing me:( I guess I better keep the garage door open

Cracker 07-03-2004 07:44 AM

Chill - Monday lunch at Varsity would be great. Randy your taking Monday off - any other takers?

DavidH - sure if you wade your way over here - call me at home at 770-664-7670.

427 S/O 07-04-2004 04:52 AM

Hey Tony, is the varsity lunch still on for Mon.?, like to meet up with you guys if the
weather agrees, finally got mine out yesterday, had a nice ride and car show in Fayetteville.
Let us know..........

Tony Radford 07-04-2004 05:05 AM

Tony, you're talking about THE Varsity at Tech? I could do that. I took a cruise yesterday to the Acura dealer in Chamblee. My daughter has her heart set on an RSX-S. I wish I was better at negotiating car deals.

Cracker 07-04-2004 06:36 AM

TR - I was thinking "the" Varsity in Alpharetta but maybe we can meet around the perimeter center area to make it more convienant for others. If so, what eating/meeting establishment would be suitable around the Roswell Rd/Abernathy area?

DavidH 07-04-2004 02:28 PM

I can probably make it to the Alpharetta location. What time are we going to get there???

Tony Radford 07-04-2004 04:16 PM

It's not looking too good for me. I've got to get this new car purchase thing done. I'm planning on making an offer at Ed Voyle in the morning and then on the Nalley (Cobb Parkway) if they turn me down. I hate this stuff. Dying to get it over with.

Clyde, how thick is it? We should be good to go provided it is is not real thin. I did my exhaust tabs and hangers fine. Actually, I need to play with it for fun anyways. Look at it this way, worst case you still end up with a broken bracket.

TR/TC and all,
I've recently moved into the Atlanta area. Not too far along with my car. Hope to complete it over the winter. I would like to make some new 'Cobra friends' and am interested in meeting at this 'Varsity' on Monday (?). If you are going to meet, can I have directions (from Conyers) and join you? Mike

Cracker 07-04-2004 07:29 PM

With TR out playing games with dealerships and a lot of us here in ole Alpharetta how about the Varsity there at 11:30? DavidH let's talk in the morning and we'll head over from our area.

Force8 - sure you can come as I always look forward to meeting new folks!

Hey Perry Henry - come on up I can't wait to see that induction system of yours.

GS, TC, Chill, etc., etc - you in?

cobramandave 07-04-2004 07:59 PM

Cracker,

Hows the new ride. Had a great time at RR thanks for your input. The Varsity is a bit far for me maybe next time.

Mike,

Practise makes perfect.

Force8,

Take GA400 North to Haynes Bridge Road and go left (west). the Varsity is tucked in back at the intersection of the 1st light if memory serves. I will be in and out tomorrow and can't do this one, but Cracker has my number and you are welcome to call if you want to swing by. I will likely be out from 11 to 1:30 or so.

svobud 07-04-2004 09:22 PM

I can't make it to the Varsity. I'm working Monday night - therefore - I'll be sleeping during the day. I did get out in the Cobra this afternoon though .. drove over to the B'ham area and visited a SVO friend who took delivery of a FFR Coupe not too long ago. I also picked up a few header bolts from his 'bolt bin'. My car keeps throwin them. Lost 4 of them now since the 4-to-4s went on. Pretty freaking scary sound when one finally drops and begins bouncing.

The drive over was very hot. I thought my feet were going to cook (I left out about 2pm). The drive back wasn't too bad - temps started cooling down later in the evening and speeds were a bit faster than normal. Got to teach a C5 vette a lesson or two for about 40 miles or so. ;)

bk347 07-05-2004 05:37 AM

Hello. New to this area, just moved to Dawsonville just north of the outlet malls off 400. Came from Plymouth Mass and have been closely associated with FFR since '98. Have built a roadster, a spec and am now building a coupe (can't make up my mind !!) Would like to meet other owners nearby. Is this the spot to find out meeting info? Thanks, Bob Kay (BK347)

GeorgiaSnake 07-05-2004 05:56 AM

Welcome to the area Bob - This is the spot.

Is it the Alpharetta Varsity at 11:30 guys?

Randy

TC I didn't lose your message - just doing honey do's. Simple kitchen make over - removing wallpaper - is turning into major remodel%/

bk347 07-05-2004 06:56 AM

Thanks, GS,...looking forwards to meeting Ga owners.

chill 07-05-2004 07:30 AM

GS, Cracker, BK, David... others? I will plan on running up to the Alpharetta Varsity around 11:30. Hope to see ya'll there.

I think there should be a fine for anyone that starts a meeting thread and doesn't make that event. How about Tony buys our lunch :D . Tony you can just call me with your AMEX card number...

TC,

....that was my thought about the bracket, if it works great, if not its broken anyway. It's an 'L' bracket about 1/4-3/8 thick. I will call your cell later today to see if you are around.

Tony Radford 07-05-2004 12:41 PM

Ain't much left on the Amex card after the Acura dealers got done with me. Back and forth between Nalley in Marietta and Vogle in Chamblee. Vogle won the toss. I was doing all this in the Cobra, so I got my seat-time in. Daughter should be pretty happy when she takes delivery of her new black RSX-S 6 speed coupe. I didn't test drive it, but I hear only good things about the ride and performance. She's been driving a Honda civic (her first and only car to date), so the point of reference is pretty low.
