Need to pick up a Cobra in Dallas
Any cost efficient ideas or method to transport a new Backdraft to Atlanta would be appreciated. U-Haul says their carrier will not work for Cobras.

See flashing add at bottom of screen. Rich hauled my SPF from Dallas to OC, Calif. Treated it like it was his own. Prices fairly and you won't be disappointed. -Deano |
I think you might want to talk to somebody else at U-Haul. I've hauled my car on their trailers all the time, they work great. Only problem is that it is not covered.

I bought my cobra 3 years ago about an hour north of dallas. I found at that time you could not rent just a trailer from U-Haul. My intention was to borrow my dad's truck drive it out and haul it back. I wound up finding a cheap ticket from ATL to DLS and went with the smallest box truck and trailer from Budget. It was farily simple I felw into DAL paid 5 bucks for a bus to the downtown area, hoped on a 50 cent bus to the general area of the truck rental (since these are not at the airport) and walked a block and a half to budget. I then drove to pick up the car.
Be warned I left that night around 8:00 and headrd for ATL. I course since it was summertime I ran ito a killer storm just outside of dallas with only a touno cover (sp) but had no choice. If you go with Budget remeber that the cab usually sits in front of the front wheels. With a empty box truck and all the weight on the trailer hitch it makes for an interesting ride back to ATL. Miss, Alba, do not have the best roads. Good luck. I think next time I rather man up and drive it. Makes for a hell of a story. |
UHaul don't have a trailer wide enough ?

Tell Boudy to drive it over and hitch hike back.
jus kiddin Boudy!!! Clois |
Buy a trailer, go get it and then sell the trailer. They hold their price well.
Good luck |
I hauled one back from Oklahoma on a Uhaul auto transport. It had no motor or trans. Fit fine. Told Uhaul it was a "mgb", Uhaul site said their auto transport will work for an "mgb" but not Cobra. I figured the ground clearance and width would be kind of the same.
The ramp was a little steep but I had no exhaust to worry about. Dave |
Intercity Lines (enclosed) will cost about $1000 +/-. I have used them a few times with excellent results.

Gordon,
I just bought an ex- Ryder car trailer. It has an aluminum bed with tilt. I put my FFR on it tonight to take it to the paint shop tomorrow. The car fits fine with about 6 inches of clearance from side pipes. It is not covered unfortunately. It has brand new tires and should be fine for the trip. You are welcome to use it if you want to. Fantastic offer
What a fantastic offer! I really appreciate it. The deal in Texas fell apart but I fly to Mi. tomorrow to make a choice between two WestCoast Cobras. I owe you a lunch just for making the offer.
