I've always wondered...
why someone would buy a "kit" from a FFR distributor? Unless the dist. is being commissioned to build a turnkey or turnkey-minus car it never has made much sense. Dyno - that's nice.
Any insight anyone? |

Met guy at "donuts" lst few weeks. From Mass. Retired fireman who lived near the factory. Spent lots of time there including their Sat a get togethers. Even pitched in and helped out in shipping.
He has built and sold two roadsters while up north and now has a nearly completed coupe. Nice guy who can offer lots of help, someone will see before they buy-and not pay any premium by buying it locally. He was to have signed the deal on his property this week and waiting to move in and get started. Wll keep everyone posted. cb |
Yea Bob seems to be a real nice guy, and he lives only a few miles from me. Bob if you read this I am going to come by and see your coupe.

Thanks for the promo Chip. Appreciate it.
Kraze...you're welcome anytime. Call first so I'll be here 265-9889 Signed fpr the bldg on Friday and am hoping to get the keys during the week. Will be cleaning and painting before installing the lift. I'll keep you informed as to what's happening. Hoping to offer a sales outlet and showroom for those interested who can't make a trip to Wareham, Mass to the factory. Same prices, just more convient. Bob |
Cool Bob - Hope it works out for you. What kind of dyno will you have?
Randy |
I'm looking at a couple of dynos, Randy, one is the dynojet which I'm sure everyone has seen on TV. It requires some extensive installation in the floor and seeing as I won't own this bldg, it may present a problem. There's another that actually bolts on to the rear axle (wheels removed) uses water as resistance. A friend, Rob Weatherbee brought one to FFR's open house this year and a few friends of mine who used it said it was good. Very adaptable to different types of uses. Very portable, etc.
Just FYI, the bldg is located in Cumming off 306. There's a NASCAR dirt track racer across the street and a Mercedes and BMW tuner in the same industrial park. Seems auto-friendly. Hope to have some display cars and rolling chassis to look at soon. Bob |
Bob,
This sounds great! There is alot of talent in Dawsonville. Good luck with your project! PS: It's kinda funny that Dawsonville is now thought of as an Atlanta suburb! |
That's terrific Bob! I like the idea and doing it (Cobra's) everyday like you and SpecialK would be pure heaven. I look forward to meeting you.

Do you need to ever dyno a GT-40:rolleyes:
|
Thanks Tony. My idea was to move south where it's warmer and more Cobra friendly and to be around cobras all the time. When I told FFR I was thinking of moving to the Atlanta area, he said "I always wanted a showroom there". It's kind of been snowballing from there.
Don't intend to build cars on order, just stock some kits and allow people to see some display cars. I was thinking of having little seminars, like Home Depot, on different parts of the building process in case there are any guys in the area that are building an FFR and are stuck on anything. It's alot easier to see a car in the build process to answer alot of questions. Should be fun. |
