KMP249 - Exclusive Spy Photos

The photos attached show TC's Kirkham KMP249 caught out under its own power while attending an Atlanta Shelby Club cookout. The photos are not great since all I had to commemorate the coming out of KMP249 was my Treo cameraphone. I was assured that TC drove it to the event, and I did not see any support vehicles, trailers, etc at the event... but some real nice Shelby's. With all that exclusive metal around, I almost parked on the street..... %/ but naaaaahhh....

Here it is:

and some of the other attendees' rides.....

Ya'll sure it's not Mikey's neighbor's house. He might have just rolled it across the Cul-De-Sac(FTF).

Cracker...
Good point!! When you drive one of these things almost anywhere, 'sheepish' is not a word to describe a typical 'arrrival', but in the presence of that lofty company, I have to admit, there was no throttle-blipping, just a slow roll into the closest parking space...

p.s. The guys at Robinson Racing said 'hello'.

SF,
TC? Push? yeah, right!

PatBuckley 08-12-2004 08:24 AM

Way to go TC!!!

That is a good looking herd of cars there....

Chill,

Man, those "phones" take some decent pics. Just low res enough not to show that the car needs some sanding/scotchbriting again!! Luckily it was not far, I totally forgot my charging system is still on the blink (or should I say never worked period) . I have to sort that out before I venture off again in 2005.

Side Oil'r 69,

It is a iron 427 SO that we bored to .020 to clean up, with a stroked 391 forged crank in it. Hi-Riser heads and intake, ol' Holley 3 bbl 1050 CFM.

Pat and others,

Thanks for the kind words. There is quite an active Shelby contingent here in the area and all of these cars were pristine with two being owned by two parties each since 1970. Original unrestored cars!! They will be meeting at the Avenue in Cobb next month. I will post details when I get them as they are welcoming of all Shelby fanatics, cloned or original. My type of folks!!!

SouthernFried Mullet Z28/RS,

:p

If you want I can polish it in Photoshop for you... heck, Photoshop made you 10(+?) years younger, it could do wonders on the car too!!

ToyCollector 08-12-2004 08:45 PM

Clyde, no bother with the Photoshop! Look what kind of parties I get into with my current physique and looks! I slipped in real stealthy like as well. :D Anything to avoid the crowds!!

ToyCollector 08-12-2004 08:54 PM

Oh, Your pic reminded me it may be time to remove the protective sheeting off my visors and sidescreens. No wonder why those Shelby guys walked so far around my car. Hmmm, wonder if I'll be invited back. :D :D

Jamo 08-12-2004 09:21 PM

Bout damn time we saw some picks of that thing outside of your garage! Nice collection to be parked with. ;)

ToyCollector 08-12-2004 09:35 PM

Jamo,

Everyone of those 'stangs are 100% accounted for. A few are considered "Thoroughbreds" in Mustang speak. For those that know, that is the highest form of pedigree=100% original to the best scrutineer. And scrutineer they do. Not shown was what started all this. A Boss 429 was placed 2nd for wrong wiper arm material (stainless I believe) and a bad washer pump sticker. We are talking Computerwork's like focus here. There were 3 to 4 more there at the peak that are not in the pics. Simply a great event with great people and kids. The guys that owned all of these were tickled to have a reason to drive them. So good to see. Event even got me off my ass. Time for me to get my camera fixed, or if I drag my ass long enough (my REAL plan) I may be able to buy a cheap Leica ;) .

I was wondering what that orange looking thing as in the top pic. Thought it was something sitting in the front seat

GeorgiaSnake 08-13-2004 05:05 PM

sideoiler 69 - TC is being less than honest about the drive train - it is a special one off hybrid - runs on batteries
