TR
I'm thinking meeting not much before 11-ish at Starbucks then run up to the shop, see what's up, get some lunch, and then play it by ear. That work for you?

Anyone else, c'mon up!

Tony Radford 10-22-2004 05:39 PM

11:00 it is.

GeorgiaSnake 10-22-2004 07:01 PM

I'm depending on a little "Yellow" cab, so time is not an option.

Chill my car will be in your garage early next week. Give me a call or we can talk tomorrow.

Will be leaving from "Donut Derilicts" group. Shold be a few of us from there including (I HOPE) Dick Koch's just-finished Twin Turbo/Twin Nitrous alcohol injected (REALLY!) Pantera. Was 750 hp BEFORE he added nitrous! cb

chill 10-23-2004 06:36 AM

Ok Randy. I will be sure to have plenty of lysol, Raid, and a drop cloth....

GeorgiaSnake 10-23-2004 02:49 PM

Dr. J.O. thanks for the ride - I always wondered what 1,400 HP felt like.

Bob thanks for allowing us to climb over your stuff and eat your food. Loved the coupe - what are you going to do with it?

Randy

I want to thank the "Atlanta" group for attending. What awesome cars you guys have. I hope you all (I said it again!) had a good time and won't be strangers. I enjoyed your visit and it was good meeting more of the crowd. Hope to see you again soon...Bob

The coupe will be mostly for display in the shop and for winter driving. (Or at least what passes for "winter" here!!) It should be finished before the end of the year. Thanks, again for dropping by and I hope you feel free to come by anytime. Bob

FattyBri 10-24-2004 04:03 PM

Thanks Bob for a fun afternoon! Really makes me wish my car was done after seeing all the nice completed cars. I think its time for a "group build" on mine so i can get it done!

bk347 10-25-2004 04:26 AM

I'm glad you came, Brian and hope you had a good time. A group build is good if you need some motivation. All it usually takes is for a nice completed car to come rumbling up! There were some really nice cars there and I appologize for not getting to speak to all the owners and thank them for coming. Now that you know where I am, don't be strangers.

Anytime you want to do the "build" day let me know and I'll supply the food, as well as the facility. Bob

Rev Dr Trouble, as you well know - my taxi only makes 136 net SAE HP at the cooling fan - so after a minor ride in a lesser vehicle, or vee hickle, does your sometime available cobwed ride feel to you a little less, or missing something that 13 year olds have? TC - do you have anything with a GA plate that runs?
Brian - pick a date and the whole strange crew will help.

GeorgiaSnake 10-26-2004 04:18 AM

Good Dr. - 136 net at the cooling fan - what about at the arse or seat of the britches. I saw all of those little switches - at least 10 of them - 10 X 136 = 1360 - very close to the 1400 I estimated.

Can you say COUPE - 13 to 1, 40 gals, 335 rears, AC, 5 switches ( net 680 SB HP), 180 MPH. Sweeeeeet

Randy

ps Chill will take care of the cobwebs - it's in his blood.

chill 10-26-2004 06:33 AM

Brian... I am sure the 'strange crew would love to help with a group build...after all, we have some 'sperience... we helped TC and his car is almost ready after only a year or so!! Just let us know when we can help make that funny looking thang in your shop into a proper roadster!

Rev. T: as for your web-infested ride...I may drive it around webs and all on Halloween just to scare the kids!!!

FattyBri 10-26-2004 08:58 AM

Thanks for all the offers guys, i was mostly just joking around! Wish i would have planned a "build party" earlier this year! Mine is mostly done, except for paint. But if you guys want to spend a dusty afternoon doing bodywork........:D ;)

chill 10-26-2004 09:45 AM

Randy, here's your opportunity to apply what you learned on your car!! Grab your idiot stick and Krylon and head over to Brian's place... he needs painting help. :D

FattyBri 10-26-2004 11:43 AM

Chill, i was thinking more of a roll-on/brush-on type paint for that textured look. Bring your brushes, i'll go down to Home Depot and get a gallon or two of $25 Interior Laytex. Hmmm, semi-gloss or gloss? I'd hate for someone to acuse me of being a "waxer"....better go with the semi-gloss!

GeorgiaSnake 10-26-2004 12:20 PM

Brian I still have the power roller I used and a few heavy nap rollers for the rich texture we all love.

Randy

chill 10-27-2004 08:11 AM

If you get a nice dimpled texture on it, it will be more aerodynamic.... like a golfball..... %/

...of course you can always just skuff the fiberglass and leave it 'au naturel'... it is supposed to be 40 years old after all...:JEKYLHYDE

...and I have found that the odometer is the best defense of the 'waxer' accusation ;)
