Plans for the Mitty.....

What's the latest on this event? I think I've got the kitchen pass lined up so have my fingers crossed on the weather. In a prior post the McMichael guys were organizing a Cobra Corral and sounded like we'd get to do a parade lap around the course. :D Anyone know the timing and specifics of what's happening when and where? Also, is this a buy the ticket at the gate type thing, or do you need to get them in advance?
Thanks!
Scott

PS: what is the speed limit on a parade lap???

Scott I'm planning to go but doubt I will take the car as I have a few friends running and will spend my time in the pits.

PS: The speed limit is no faster than the guy in front of you.

It is hard for me to imagine how anybody that likes cars could miss the Mitty. It's one huge car show. Get tickets at the gate, bring some folding chairs and wear comfortable walking shoes, and don't forget the sun screen. How about a garage party this Friday night at my house to make paddock plans ? I'm up for it if you are ?

Mitty

The Mitty is a GREAT event We can all watch Johan cruise to a class win in the Lola! The McMichael trailer will be up in the usual spot near Vendor village. We should have the corral close by. Your cars will be watched! We also plan to keep the grill fired up so brat and beverages will be available. Parade laps for car clubs are usually on Sunday am during quiet time. I'm working on try to get some Autocross time. Mini-Cooper has a test run and I've heard that Audi will be providing cars.

Cars shows, great racing, great people and some good vendors make this the premier vintage event on the east coast. AND its in our neighborhood!!

In case of rain...we will move the grill to the shop and show old car movies..... and Gran Turisimo 4 on PS2.

Be there. The speed limit is the car in front of you and no passing

BUT, you can slow down and make a little room and then speed up a bit, like Toy collector did last year in my car in the rain on slicks. Rob, if I have a garage party this Friday night, would you bring a coupe down ?

PARTY ????

I'll be there....Red or Gray coupe?? We'll bring the 904 and maybe a Shelby Mustang. OK? Rob

Red sounds great Rob. It looks like we are having an impromtu garage party this Friday the 15th at my house to gear up for the Mitty.
Ga Tech Automotive engineering students will be there and Jim Downing's chassis engineer (Kudzu racing) will be there, and even Spyderman will be there. Toy Collector, DC, and maybe even Georgiasnake ? Beer and snacks. Wear old clothes and help me shovel dirt for the toy railroad I am installing in the back yard. E-mail me for directions if you think you might be able to come. We'll be cracking beers as soon as I get home from work.
