Cobra sighting in Kennesaw

Who came thru downtown Kennesaw today during the Big Shanty Festival? Silver with Black Stripes. It wasn't Mzhun, I know him and his car. Whoever - if you're local - give me hollar sometime so we can hook up and do a weekend cruise together. I was working this entire weekend ( you had to turn at my patrol car because of the street closing), but usually have Sundays off.

Bud, I can't believe you passed up on an opportunity to initiate a newcomer by jumping on his ass at speed with lights flashing and siren blairing for a "welcome to Kennesaw". Just remember to carry a roll of paper towels so the Cobra pilot can wipe a certain crack. You don't want the guy sliding around in his seat while taking corners.

Hehe .. trust me Tony, If I had the opportunity I would have done just that. Just so happened that I was busy dealing with the public the first time he drove by - and the Asst Chief was standing next to me on his return .... OR .. he would have been 'welcomed' properly.

Are you going to be on the hang gliding cruise team?

Hmmm ... I'm thinking, "No". For some reason that just sounds NUTS to me. Now take into account, I have Airborne wings, very experienced at rappelling, earned a couple of combat patches, been in a shoot out or two, and a member of the High Risk Entry Team. Yet - strapping myself to a kite with a briggs and straton on my arse does NOT sound like fun. Call me whatever you feel is appropiate, but my name is smartguy.

My very first flight in 1978 at the Atlanta water works, after I got a little comfortable it was on the grandfather Mt. in N.C.

I have seen that car too, but do not know the owner. I am calling around today to find the best option to fixing my distribtor/cam problems. I may have the motor stroked by Southern or use a local guy that my neighbor has been using for 15 years named David Bagwell. Either way, I hope to be on the road soon.

Go buy a crate motor and be done with it. :) Use that other for a boat anchor.

ToyCollector 04-18-2005 08:42 PM

SVO, was the car you saw a 427 street car with no sidepipes? If so, I know who it was.

svobud 04-19-2005 11:31 AM

It had sidepipes and thinner than usual LeMans stripes in black. White guy in his 40s driving it. Single chrome rollbar.

Bud, I have a couple grand in top end on this one that I would like to salvage or it would be out back in the lake! I am basically building a short block as opposed to buying one in a crate. That is my rationalization anyway...
