New Cobra Guys

I had a great day today putting a few more miles on the Cobra with my 3-year-old daughter as copilot. Also met a couple of new Cobra guys, Mike and Ted, at The Avenue cruise-in here in E. Cobb. Later in the afternoon went and took a look at Mike’s ORIGINAL silver AC427 with 1100 original miles. Beautiful car! Hope to see you around Mike and Ted.

Would love to see an original.....

Let me know when that original will be back out for a showing. Having gotten to know my replica pretty well now, I'd really like to see an original live to be able to compare the two. Was it a street model, or SC?
Thanks!
Scott

It was great meeting Ted and yourself.
I am hoping to take the Cobra to Brewsters on Peachtree for a milkshake this afternoon (Sunday).

What's the history on your car?

Mike,
What's the history on your car? I read into your title that it's one of the AC versions of the Cobra, so guess it doesn't have a CSX number? I've read more on the history of the Shelby's vs the ACs. Beautiful car - aren't you terrified to drive it with these crazy Atlanta drivers around?
Thanks!
Scott

Hi Scott,
After AC finished building the Cobra for CS they built a new car
as a succesor called the AC 428. Mine is registered as MX-1 (special project). The main difference in my chasis versus the 7 litre Cobra chasis was that many of the rose joints from the suspension wishbones were replacedrubber and metalastick bushes in the interest of quietness. When the new Italian designed body arrived they built another chasis which is longer than mine by six inches.
Brian Angliss (AC) provided the AC Cobra body via Shelby Performance (Sacramento California) and all other Shelby parts were assembled in the USA including the engine.
Regards,
Mike
