GREAT! And you want to have a cruise to where again? North Georgia hills? No wonder why some folks think the Southerners are slow learners! :p

Tony Radford 06-16-2005 05:03 PM

OK, fine! Let's meet at the usual spot (Starbucks in Cummin) at 10:00 Saturday morning. I actually stopped at the Dillard House for lunch today (see later post) and got acres of food off my mind. I really like those twisties up towards Dawsonville. On my way back from Asheville today, I got mis-pointed down Rt 64 along the GA/NC border. Man, what an awesome road! I can't believe I took the Dakota over the little red car. I kicked myself in the A$$ all the way there.

GeorgiaSnake 06-16-2005 05:20 PM

I almost gave up on you guys and started making plans to join the Pinto club:rolleyes:

Tony Radford 06-16-2005 05:24 PM

Do you think Bill would be pissed off if you showed up at Southern driving a Pinto with his motor in it?

ToyCollector 06-16-2005 06:28 PM

Tony, a Pinto IS a Ford. Would have to try it I guess.

If we do Cumming, I should have time to make it. I need to do a brake/clutch job on the car I may be taking to the Willis.

Tony Radford 06-17-2005 03:50 AM

Let's go to Hiawassee. I've never been there and it looks like it's in a scenic part of the state. Is it too far?

chill 06-17-2005 07:28 AM

10am Cumming Starbucks (Exit 14) works.

Let's look at a loop that gets us back early afternoon. After being out of town, I have a bit of work to do around the house.

Tony, bring a map!

The same Tony that got us lost on McFarland  We drove 76 miles on a road that is only 3 miles long:LOL:  I suggest a globe :p cell phone and GPS.

Randy

TC, JO you guys or anybody south of me going - we can meet at the cave and drive up together.

olblue66 06-17-2005 03:18 PM

Exit 14 . Is that rt. 20. Where is starbucks from exit 14?

Tony Radford 06-17-2005 03:30 PM

Starbucks is on the right side of 20 about a quarter mile before 400 heading west. It's right across the street from the BP station. I will be heading out rt 20 from Dacula, through Buford.

olblue66 06-17-2005 05:36 PM

O K

I thought I'd throw my 2 cents in...................

Dillard House is Great....need a wheelbarrow to get out though.

Wolf Mountain Winery is Great...pretty scenery...good wine...nice folk.

Hiawassee is pretty tooooooooooooo.

You guys always plan stuff like this when I'm in Florida...I'll be in Clarkesville again from July 1st to the 5th..............I'm begginning to thunk you guys are tryin to avoid me????????

Tony Radford 06-17-2005 07:43 PM

I found a road atlas. Unfortunately, even with my reading specs, I can only make out some squiggly lines that look like they go to awesome places. I cleaned out my air cleaner and changed the plugs. I'll grab a map when I stop for gas in the morning. I may even pay for it.

GeorgiaSnake 06-17-2005 07:51 PM

Earl I just got back from Clarkesville about a hour ago. I went up to look at a property and the freaking owner never showed up. She called when I was halfway home to tell me she had fallen asleep.

Randy

EarlsflyinCobra 06-17-2005 08:09 PM

Did ya thank her properly?????????

GeorgiaSnake 06-18-2005 05:48 PM

Hope you guys had a good ride - I can't shake this bug that is making me cough my nuts off. Tony now I have laryngitis so I couldn't answer the phone when you called.

Randy

Tony Radford 06-18-2005 06:51 PM

Randy, sorry to hear it. We were ranting over the fact that only three of us showed up. Chill Sr. and Jr. in some match box racer and Pat and I in our Uniques. We drove almost all the way to Blairsville. We took so many curves so fast I was about ready to hurle. I haven't been on a drive like that since I rode with the DCC guys in north Tampa a couple of years ago. Folks were pulling over and getting out of the way (probably because they thought Clyde's front bumper was hung up on their trailer hitch. We hit a barbeque place that was awesome on the way back. We were so busy gorging that we didn't even notice the thunder boomer sneaking down from the north. Pat and I got a bit damp while we pulled over and watched Clyde install his ragtop in the rain (what's wrong with this picture?) Several hours of serious twisties and no body broke anything. Lots of bicycles.

chill 06-18-2005 07:21 PM

Good ride guys, let's do it again ... Sorry more could not come out, but a good time and good BBQ. The weather was great except for about 15 minutes on the way back and I have definitely found the roads they had in mind when they designed the Lotus.

More good news... with all the bikers we probably aggravated, not one of them shot any type of liquid at Tony

Guys, after you drive to the mountains and fried food, come to Giovanni's for dinner. the featured car this month is Cobra .

Giovanni's 3630 Peachtree Parkway, Suwanee 30024 770-232-1122. if coming from Atlanta take 400 N to exit 13, right at the off ramp, go about 5 miles and Giovanni's is on the right, which is in the Kohls shopping center. if you go through Mcginnis Ferry then you have gone too far.

see you then .

no entry fee, no awards. good pizza and cool cars.

Brian
