my apologies

David and Clois,

I extend my apologies to the both of you.

I have many clients with the real thing and have had the fortunate opportunity to drive.

I am a BIG fan of the cars, just not of the people that take themselves a bit tooooooo serious!(not saying that is either of you)

I do admit that I, in a momentary lapse of reason, thought it might be fun to mix it up a little.

I mean no disrespect to the heritage and enjoyment of said vehicles.

My reference is not regarding the weekend racers, SVRA, HSR or any related vintage racing.
I understand and have used several trailers for this purpose.

You must admit it is fun to take a poke at the person trailering the car 5 miles to the yocal car show.

NART

tifosi, trailering a car five miles is a bit much, I would agree. These cars are meant to be driven. But many people are like me: I'm also looking for a trailer as I want to take mine hundreds of miles away to show and don't want to rack up the mileage or get needless chips. I'm calm and cool, just want the weather to get better so I can drive my car.

tifosi,
Apology accepted. All is well

David

Hmmm. Fair enough, time will tell.

Meanwhile, while the dust settles, i was curious if your name really is NART or have you appropriated the North American Racing Team initials from Luigi Chinetti's heirs & assigns for your customer services?

You might find this group rather widely exposed to most things automotive and while the site is and remains clearly Cobra, the membership strikes me not in the least mono-moniacal about only things Cobra. (i have been assured, for instance, that several members actually own Chevy engines, though admittedly not very often in their Cobras.)

i even suspect some members are old Chinetti customers and perhaps even team members and employees, but that's just a guess.

So, personal welcomes if you wish to add to the core knowledge and enjoyment of Cobras or even just want to read, learn & kibitz. But, your curtain-raiser was certainly inauspicious and mildly antagonizing to perhaps not a few proud owners of these occasional gems.

i've had my own knuckles rapped a few times and have learned accordingly.

So, welcome aboard from absolutely nobody important but us mice.

Any trailers for sale?

jdog 04-06-2006 10:24 AM

racejunk.com!

I bought a used California Carhauler w/wench, off of racejunk for $1,000!

jdog:)
P.S. Does a CSX Cobra qualify as a "trailerable" car?;)

What'saCobra? 04-06-2006 11:45 AM

You have to plug her in to get her to move .... and she only moves slowly

wtm

I don't think the speed matters as long as she moves and mabie make an occasional noise just to let you know she's a'workin.

Why would you guys trailer kit cars, are they that unreliable?
or perhaps, y'all don't want to lose the rugs.

Now use that little grey area you have, just how many " real Cobras" have you seen on the track racing or have you ever been to the track? After a weekend at the track I really don't need to drive it anouther eight hundred miles going home. A Superformance isn't a kit car but even if one has a kit it's smart to protect the investment and not add unnecessary miles. What do you drive to the track an off the shelf used Corvette?

My bald pate is still smarting. Dug my car trailer out of storage last night -- older suburban pulled it fine after trade of newer truck for stang. I will pull my old batard to the occasional show with pride.

HSSS427 04-18-2006 08:48 PM

Awww come on Gordon....

Don't tell me that nice little ride down to Savannah last summer following Rob at 50 mph, with 95 degree temps, the sun beating down, and no air conditioner made you want to get a trailer?

And the better part was driving back with no top, on slick tires, in thunderstorms that were pouring rain by the bucket full! I had to strip the whole interior out of my car to dry it!

But, get a trailer? - hah! I laugh in the face of the wind, the rain, the heat, the bugs and all the plagues God can bring to a cobra driver!

I look forward to paying the dentist to pick the bugs out of my teeth, and yearn for the wind in my hair (or sun on my scalp as the case may be).

And thus, I also yearn for lots of events at Road Atlanta, or for someone to provide a decent trailer rental :p
