Car Hauler for Rent or Sale?

All, I need to get my body into the paint shop during the Month of December and I'd also like to get the chassis into the shop to get an oil leak fixed. However, I have a truck, but no Car Hauler. Does anyone mind renting theirs or Do you know of any for Sale at a good price? I live up I-85 in Suwanee.

Thanks for any help!!

Cheers,

I rented one from UHaul a while back... did you check them out?

James

No I haven't. I'm looking for an enclosed trailer or a flatbed at a minimum I'll check with them next week though. Thanks..

Anyone else? :-)

Try Tony Radford - he had a Serpent Express and needed to store it at one time. He's up your way too..... You might also see if your shop has one they'd loan you

my Trailer is at Flashback Motor works. They don't rent it but for a fee will pick up and deliver. You can also call Juan there he has flatbed service. They are in Cumming.

Just rang FlashBack... No luck. But it was worth a shot... I'm going to ring Tony as well and check. Also called Country Boy Trailers (another reccomendation) and no luck there either.

:-) Still open to ideas.

Is your body on a movable dolly with wheels? Have it moved on a slideback tow truck. I paid them $35.00 each way. Piece of cake.

thudmaster 11-27-2006 11:03 PM

Oh Hell, just call 3a. When the driver shows up to start your car have him haul the body to the shop. Thats how I get my golf cart to the course for the season. Let him write it up as your car or truck being towed and pay him some cash. Its Christmas everyone can use the extra money..........:)

I got my ERA to the body shop in a 15 foot box van I rented from U-Haul....

rcassidy 11-28-2006 05:14 AM

Rick - No It's not. It was at one point in time, but no longer. :-(

Pat - That's a good idea. I can rent one of those for $40 or so a day. Cheaper than a Tow Truck, I was curious about it fitting so thanks for confirming that.

Thudmaster - I wish I could find a tow truck that cheap. Hell it cost me $55 (each way) to go 4.6 miles a few months back when I needed some tranny work done on the rolling chassis.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Looks like it's a Uhaul unless I can find a trailer otherwise.

Anyone... Please :-) The only item I've found is a Box Truck from Ryder or Penske and due to the timing I have to keep it for 4 days. Estimated Cost is $300-400. Which is for some reason is too high in my mind.

Next weekend. Friday the 15th through Monday the 18th.

Thanks again!!

try U haul cause you will be able to return it on a weekend where Ryder and Penske are usually closed

Tony Radford 12-07-2006 05:27 PM

Ryan, I got your email. My trailer doesn't have a canopy on it, so it's currently just an open trailer. You're welcome to use it. It's currently being stored (and used) by Rob Ginn at his Superformance shop near Road Atlanta. I haven't checked on it for many months, but I assume it's operational. If you're interested, just coordinate with Rob to see if it's available when you need it.

Tony

rcassidy 12-07-2006 08:06 PM

Awesome Thanks Tony! I'll ring Rob in the AM.

Cheers,

Tony Radford 12-08-2006 03:47 AM

Ryan, you'll need an electric brake controller installed on your tow vehicle. If Rob doesn't have tie down straps, I do.

rcassidy 12-08-2006 06:18 AM

Thanks Tony. It's a Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 w/Hemi (LOL yeah I know, towing a Ford :-) and it has a Class IV trailer hitch on it with the 7-pin connector. I should be good to go. I also have a set of tie down straps too. I certainly appreciate all your help. I'm going to ring Rob this morning to set it all up.

Cheers,

Tony,

When we going to add a new cover to your prototype Serpent Express?

Larry
