Transmission (Tremec) shop in Atlanta
Any suggestion regarding an Atlanta area shop to fix the leak in my Tremec 3550?
I'm new to this so I wonder what the local guys do.

If it's an output shaft seal, just change it yourself. Not a hard job at all. Hardest part is pulling the driveshaft out.

Check out Vintage Mustang in Decatur. They can change a bushing without removing the tail shaft housing.

Just an FYI, I found that Southern Gear in Symrna is the only authorized Tremec repair shop in ATL. Little late to the party, but an FYI for everyone.

Try Max at 404-838-8606 in Decatur. Vet that does classic cars and bikes. Has an 1967 Mustanfg that he uses as a daily driver and added a/c, 4 speed, disc front brakes and all the paint/body work. He was a submariner in the Navy and can do about anything, including fabricate. He has a complete machine shop too. He has done one project for me already and has a second project now. Out of the Navy and trying to start building a business. cb

My trans leak was coming from the speedometer cable. I removed it from the trans. - cleaned it up real good with brake cleaner. Then put silicone RTV around where the cable is crimped just before it enters the trans. Reinstalled it.
The leak is history. Easy fix. I didn't want it to be some gasket that requires pulling the trans and taking it apart. It wasn't.

Thanks Chip!! I have a long way to go before I can qualify to be a "shade tree" mechanic. But it is part of the fun.
