Fall Cruise

Yep, it's in work, the 2nd Annual "Cats and Snakes" Fall Cruise through the North GA Mountains, a joint effort between the North Georgia Jaguar Club and McMichael Motorsports. We had a great outing last year, a nice collection of vintage and late model Jags along with several Cobra replicas. Still ironing it out, but it'll be either October 13 or 14th. More details to follow as we make them up! :D

If I am in town, count me in. I'll know closer to the event. Thank you for putting this together. Looks like fun.

I am anxiously awaiting details.

What was your route last year?

RedEsprit 08-29-2007 12:20 PM

My kind of event. Make room for an ERA 427

Looks like your upcoming event is getting some out of state interest...with regard to that the selection the day, Saturday vs. Sunday, perhaps should consider that. For example people could travel on Friday to a meeting/staging place, make the run on Saturday, and go home on Sunday...or whatever the consus might be.

Looks like it will be fun and maybe some of us from up here can make the trip.

Commissioner,

If the decisions have not been made on this years run, can you give us some info about the last one?

Thanks!

Last Years' Cruise

We gathered the first bunch at Exit 13 on Hwy 400 in Cumming. We went up 400 to 9 up into Dahlonega, where we met the rest of the crowd and had lunch. We went up 60 and along the way, ducked on/off a bunch of the one lane side roads that parallel 60, up to 76. I think from there we went East and back thru Brasstown Bald, and back to 19. We cut the route short due to it getting too late in the day. Mind everyone, it's not a Cobra cruise where it's pedal to the metal, cover the most miles the quickest. The Jag club runs the cruise and they are nice enough to invite McMichael Motorsports and our Cobra gang to join them. We had fun, and the pace was good so cars weren't overheating and people weren't getting "antsy" to have to haul ass. There have been past posts about the increased law presence up there, so we're mindful of that as well, and we certainly don't want to see anyone sail off a cliff.... SVO Bud, can you put your flashing light on your hood??!!

Have confirmed that it will be Sunday, October 14. The early meeting is Exit 13 off Hwy 400 at 11am at the Starbucks end of the Ingles shopping center. Once gathered, we'll head up the scenic way to Hwy 53/Hwy 400 intersection and meet the rest of the crowd at to leave around 1pm from the Ryans Steakhouse. The cruise will commence from there and end up in Dahlonega. I'm awaiting the complete route of flight. If anyone is interested in attending, pls email me as we get closer to the date so I can provide a number to the Jag club. Rain date for the event will be October 28.

If it's on Sunday, there's a good chance I can make it as well.
